The NO-CLICKY guide to Facebook safety

Let's analyze! First, some examples (please, no-clicky on the links!!!): AMAZING ! i cant believe that you can actually see who is viewing your profile!I just checked my top 10 viewers and Im Shocked my Ex is still viewing it!! You can also see here :  http://bit.ly/e0fev5 wow just saw my total facebook views and top stalker: Girls- 6,938 Boys- 1,239 some people cant stay off my fb lol ... see whos stalking ur page asap lol  http://tiny.cc/awdrd Woah... I have spent 157 hours logged in to facebook. You can see how much you\'ve been logged in -  http://bit.ly/f1jwee Do you see the pattern here?... Let me give you some hints! The Facebook terms and conditions clearly state that there's no way to see who is visiting your profile etc., and that any app that claims it can do this is 1) violating those terms, 2) spamming, 3) in search of access to your list of friends, and 4) showing fake results because they can't track these things!! You see it appearing on your friends' lists a lot coming from the same person as a wall message - it's because that ignorant fellow actually clicked on it and followed all the steps there, and gave it permission to post on

The humane face of Microsoft: Education

They're neither "the devil", nor some monopoly, they're not propcupied with taking over the world and also not in the business of "technological copy/paste". Because, let's be honest, that is what people currently think about Microsoft... Well, short piece of reality coming up :) for the past week, Microsoft was our host for a Strategic Meeting concernign the MyAIESEC.net platform (a bit more about our meeting in a future post). One of this week's highlights was a great opportunity to get a tour of their "Executive Briefing Center for European Innovation", to get up to speed with some of their latest technologies and plans, and, perhaps most important, to get in touch with some of the flesh-and-blood people behind the brand. The word of the week (and month, year and possibly decade to come) at Microsoft is EDUCATION . Because, unlike most mainstream companies, Microsoft understood two things: investing in education is investing in the future, and educating people to use your software insures you a steady and savvy base of clients - the kind of clients any company would like to have. Their virtual classrooms and online learning tools are, in all fairness, far ahead anything

Impresii dupa conferinta NovemberWeb 2009

I. Cuza" Iasi.

Steps to create a GMail signature WITH images (no plugins needed)

I've come up with a basic principle through which you can create signature that include images, for all of your GMail and mail.aiesec.netaccounts: Log in to GMail or mail.aiesec.net and go to Settings - Labs Enable two options from there what will help you in achieving your goal (and then save the settings): Inserting images - this is a plugin that allows you to add images to your GMail messages Canned Responses - this plugin allows you to save pre-formatted messages; it works much like the Drafts folder, except you can re-use the canned responses saved here any time you want to. Create your signature as if you were writing a normal message. Insert the AIESEC logo, the LGP, the NGP and/or any other image you like into the message Under the subject field of your message, you will now find a link with a drop-down arrow next to it, dubbed Canned Responses. Click on it, select from there New canned response... and save your brand new signature with a suggestive name (say, AIESEC Signature, or signature with pictures etc). Very important: after completing these steps, go to Settings - General and disable your existing signature (simply sele

France - First Impressions

WOW! I mean... WOW! The best time I've had in a long long time :) I will write more within the next few days about the timeline and all the events I've taken part in, as soon as I find the time to write them all down in detail. Meanwhile, here are all the photos taken during our journey and during the festival itself: You can find more info regarding WIF here: http://www.webdesign-festival.com/2008/

130, my lucky number...

Only 70 hours left 'till our arrival in France ...!! So far, it's been a wonderful experience, starting with the fact that we 've actually made it in the finals, continuing with the support of all my friends and colleagues and even my boss's, the mind-blowing conferences I found out I can be a part of, my future first ride in an airplane... It's gonna be veeeeeery interesting, (to say the least)! I'll come back with pictures & more stories as the events develop :) I just hope the number they gave me will be a lucky one ;)

I'm... accessible! :)

We've seen this happening more and more often by now, and it's pretty clear: web groups are a thing of the past, social networks are the new trend now... And it's growing, and it's growing, and it's growing... :) More and more people tend to know one another through these networks, find new friends or business partners, share their virtual life in ways that seemed impossible just five or six years ago. From the early years of SixDegrees.com (1998) and BlackPlanet (1999) to this day, social network sites have grown into an industry where almost 500 milion users spend their time knowing one another and sharing data, pictures, music, videos, even open research. Most of you now have, a profile on HI5, the world's biggest social network of the day, or other sites like 360 (from Yahoo), Orkut (from Google), Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, Bebo and so on. I have accounts on most of the above (specifically Yahoo! 360 , HI5 , Facebook , LinkedIn , Twitter , Orkut and Bebo ), and I like it this way because I can get in touch with my friends and acquaintances a lot more often than I used to in the past. Now, the social platform provided by Google, named OpenSocial, has been implemented
